Product Page: See here…
This generator is heavy-duty. It is Yamaha’s offer for contractors and professionals. We rated it the #5 best portable generator on the market for professional contractors.
People are mostly impressed with this generator – the only issue is the lack of wheels for easier moving around the job site.
Before you buy you should read about the features, benefits and hear some real-life user feedback (including complaints) to ensure you make the right choice before buying this generator.
1. Electric Start
The Yahama EF6600DE comes with an impressive built-in electric start feature. Now you will not have to struggle with the recoil rope to get your generator up. In fact, you are only a press of a button away to get your machine running (The battery is not included in the package). As a back-up (in case the battery dies), the generator is still equipped with a traditional recoil rope to give you a full peace of mind.
2. Brushless Alternator
The EF600DE model is manufactured with a brushless alternator technology, which ensures smooth output of voltage. This ensures that your appliances are not damaged from fluctuation in power from the generator.
3. Dual Voltage
A rare, but very useful feature in generator models these days. It has the flexibility to output either 120V or 240V, whichever is more suitable to your use.
4. Auto Voltage regulator
In addition to the brushless alternator, Yamaha has also packed in an automatic voltage regulator. This mechanism ensures that you get a smooth and precise voltage level, which reduces any risk of component failure inside the generator. Due to this minimum fluctuation, your appliances are more secure than ever!
5. Solid Build
This model is made of cast-iron sleeve. This rugged material adds to its already robust durability and strength. The covered outlets also protect the generator from harsh environmental conditions, thus enhancing its life considerably. This generator would serve you for a long, long time!
I sourced these real user comments from Amazon. These people did not send me these reviews in any way. For the sake of transparency I just wanted you to know that. Review 1 (positive 4 out of 5)
“…There is practically no exhaust smell. It weighs about 145 pounds without propane tank. Two people can easily lift it into the back of a pickup. The handle folds down, so it won’t interfere with a fifth wheel overhang. Generac also provides a two-year warranty…”

Review 2 (positive 4 out of 5)
“…very well-designed for a midsized portable LPG genny. I have yet to see another “portable” LPG generator that carries the tank on-board, and it really is necessary on a true portable. You can use the 20 lb tanks available everywhere from the local drugstore…”

Review 3 (negative 2 out of 5)
“…I couldn’t run both my freezer and refrigerator at the same time. It also wouldn’t run my freezer using a 10-gauge extension cord. I had to move my freezer to the entrance of the garage to keep it running while the generator was outside. For the money get a gasoline unit that performs better…”

This generator is ideal for general use around the home or for professional use around the job site. It will run for about 12 hours with 5 gallons of gas and is more affordable than competing Honda generators.
I would suggest taking a good look at this model and keeping tabs on the price tag of this generator; Amazon do tend to drop a few dollars now and then.
