Price Detail

The 30470 model from Briggs & Stratton’s elite series comes with a great electric start feature that customers have found really helpful.

People have been taken by surprise regarding the excellent value for money this generator offers. It is reported to be extremely reliable and quick to start – and with this price tag you cannot go wrong! It is rated 4/5 on Amazon.

But before you buy you should read about the features, benefits and hear some real-life user feedback (including complaints) to ensure you make the right choice before buying this generator.

1. Electric Start with Recoil Backup

People usually have a lot of complaints regarding the recoil start up on generators. So this is a very useful feature to have – Start your machine up with just a press of a button. You would still have a recoil mechanism as a backup.

2. Elite OHV engine

Briggs & Stratton have installed their Elite 2100 series OHV engine to provide optimal performance. Its powerful overhead valve engine provides efficient energy with a relatively quite operation and will last you for a long time.

3. Portability

This machine is big, and people may think that it cannot be moved at all. But Briggs & Stratton have identified this and have placed an impressive 12” wheel kit to ease this issue. You will not believe how much this machine weighs, thanks to this kit.

4. Low Oil Protection

This machine is incorporated with a self protection mechanism. If the oil levels are running low, the generator will automatically shut down to avoid any damage to itself or any appliances that are connected to it.

5. Efficient Fuel Consumption

This generator is also known for its efficiency. Its 7-gallon fuel tank runs the generator continuously for up to 9 hours at half load. This minimizes your fuel costs and reduces refueling windows. Who wouldn’t want this?

I sourced these real user comments from Amazon. These people did not send me these reviews in any way. For the sake of transparency I just wanted you to know that. Review 1 (positive 4 out of 5)

“It starts right up and smooths out pretty quickly. It hardly skips a beat when you throw a load on it. A nice touch is the recessed well around the gas tank filler spout – any spills will tend to stay right near the filler neck and can easily be wiped up…”

Review 2 (positive 5 out of 5)

“…Bought is Product after looking at many Reviews. Real happy when I received the package. Took about 15 Minutes to install. Fill the oil and added the gas. One push of the button and started right away. I put a load on it and instant voltage. If you want a good product stay with the Briggs & Stratton Engine. Can’t go wrong buying this product…”

Review 3 (negative 1 out of 5)

“I purchased this generator from Sears. It started fine but was useless in producing electrical power. The 120 volt outlets produced only about 4 volts. The 240 about 9. I called B&S who said I would have to take it to one of their warrenty repair centers at my expense. I dropped it back off at Sears. Lesson learned.”
